PEDU 541: Language Acquisition PreK-6

For-Credit

The course will explore both the science and art of teaching language acquisition and reading development. The course will cover theory, research, practical strategies, and perspectives on how children learn emergent and early literacy skills – while recognizing that literacy development is an active process between educators and their students. Language acquisition shall follow the typical development of linguistic competence in the areas of phonetics, semantics, syntax, morphology, phonology, and pragmatics. 3 credits.

Payment Information

Effective fall 2025, a $10 per credit technology and infrastructure fee has been added, bringing the in-state rate to $295 per credit (in-state) and $365 per credit (out of state).
