Instructor: Dr. Meg Thompson

Dr. Thompson is a professor of athletic training and kinesiology, and she has been teaching First Aid, CPR & AED for more than 15 years.  As a certified athletic trainer for more than 20 years, Dr. Thompson is an expert in the acute care of injuries and illnesses.

First Aid and Emergency Cardiac Care (CPR & AED)

Complete training and earn certification in First Aid and Emergency Cardiac Care (CPR & AED) in either a hybrid or 100% virtual learning environment – you choose!  This class runs one week, including online self-paced learning, and culminates in hands-on skills learning and demonstration.

 

Successful completion of the one-week class will result in a two year CPR certification and three year First Aid certification.  This class meets the international standard for emergency cardiac care, the Virginia Department of Education requirements for teacher licensure, and OSHA requirements for workplace safety.

Complete self-paced learning of material with online quizzes and activities, along with one Zoom-based session to learn hands-on skills. Additional equipment is required for the fully online class, including a computer with a camera and reliable internet access.

  • First Aid supplies (included with course registration)
  • Access to a computer with a camera and reliable internet access
